Meet The (re)Team!

Meet Scott and Björney, friends and neighbours since years back, sharing laughs and good times.

It was a rainy day at preschool pick-up when the reCovers idea came to life. Looking at the floors all covered in single-use plastic blue shoe covers we made a promise to our kids that we would fix this problem!

After a few weekends of brainstorming in different bars and “stugas” here in Sweden our vision for reCovers was born: To introduce a reusable product made from upcycled material and use a circular business model offering rent & repair services to contribute to increased sustainable production and consumption.

The Problem!

Unsustainable consumption

Every year, between 300,000 to 500,000 single-use blue shoe covers are used in the day care centers of Gothenburg alone. The number would be a lot higher if you roll in elementary schools, elderly care, gyms, swimming pools, medical facilities, etc etc.

plastic Pollution

single-use plastic presents a significant environmental problem due to its pervasive presence and persistent nature. With millions of tons ending up in oceans, rivers, and landfills each year, it is a major source of pollution which harms wildlife, ecosystems, and human health.

user-UNfriendly

Besides from being single-use and made from plastic, the blue shoe covers are hard to open, easily ripped, have a boring color and give a “hospital vibe”.

Our Mission!

Reduce consumption

To change behaviours and reduce the consumption of single-use plastic blue shoe covers.

Increase Sustainability

To help businesses take a positive step towards reducing plastic waste, while reducing their costs and reaching their sustainability targets.

Educate

To take a small step in educating our children on the importance of environmental responsibility.

“At reCovers, we're committed to sustainability and innovation. Our reusable shoe covers are not just a product; they're a symbol of our dedication to creating a circular economy.”

How do we

plan to

achieve this?

Leasing Option

We will offer leasing options for businesses, providing a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic shoe covers. By leasing reCovers, businesses can reduce waste and minimize their environmental impact.

Repair and Reuse

We believe in extending the lifespan of our products through repair and reuse. If a pair of reCovers gets damaged, we will repair them, ensuring they remain in circulation for as long as possible. This not only reduces waste but also promotes a culture of reuse and resourcefulness.

Closing the Loop

By integrating leasing, repair, and reuse into our business model, we're closing the loop on the traditional linear economy. Instead of a "take-make-dispose" approach, we're creating a system where resources are used efficiently, products are kept in circulation, and waste is minimized.
